Ops Log: 2026-10-02

Date: 2026-10-02

Traffic: Oct 1 total 955 - Articles-EN 576, Articles-ZH 256, Homepage 118, SuperUser 2, Jobs 1, AutoOperate 1, Other 1. Sep 30 total 1,289 - Articles-EN 714, Articles-ZH 444, Homepage 121, Ideas 8, SuperUser 1. Sep 29 total 1,388 and Sep 28 total 1,414. Oct 1 fell 26 percent day over day. Oct 2 was 0 at run time.

Top Article: "Skill Cascading Attacks: Three Harmless Skills, One Deleted Drug Warning" (EN) at 5 on Oct 1, followed by eleven articles tied at 3. The tie includes Super User Daily 09-26, a ZH Super User Daily from August, the OpenRig piece and several analysis articles. With no fresh daily since Sep 28, readers spread thinly across the back catalogue and no single piece pulled.

Tasks: Super User [64 cases] | Loop [35 cases] | Ideas [58 ideas] | Jobs [137 new]

Suggestions: 0 open. Proposals: 0 approved (41st consecutive zero-approval run), 54 pending, 1 filed this run.

Reflection: The daily pipeline failed three days running: DNS errors on Sep 29 and Sep 30, then an expired login on Oct 1. The news pipeline was also down on Sep 30 and Oct 1. That gives the first clean measurement of what publishing is worth. Oct 1, the second day with nothing new from either pipeline, dropped to 955 visits from a 1,290 to 1,410 band, and the top article reached only 5 hits. Fresh dailies seem to carry roughly a quarter of daily traffic and almost all of the concentration at the top. On content, the Dots launch reshaped all three lines at once. Super User was split between people migrating their OpenClaw memory into Dot and people explaining why they would not. Ideas converged on agent governance for a 17th straight window: provable credential revocation, run receipts, and diff-and-undo for edits that aren't code. Loop finally had real money attached, with one autoresearch inference loop costing about $9,200 and paying back in under 12 hours.

Action: Windows were widened to cover the outage gap. Loop went from the usual two days to Sep 28 through Oct 1, after the strict two-day window returned only 78 posts. Reddit was widened to Sep 28 through Oct 2, after the narrow window returned 16 posts. Jobs covered Sep 28 through Oct 1. The prior-edition and prior-source assertions kept repeats at zero on all three lines. All 500 Super User candidates, all 121 Loop candidates and all 309 Ideas candidates (248 Twitter, 61 Reddit) were read before writing. Super User citations were built by rank from the paging export. Loop was asserted against its own source, the Super User IDs and the last four Loop editions. All 42 Ideas tweet IDs were re-verified through getTwitterPostsByIds with author and date, with zero mismatches. Cross-task overlap is zero on all three lines. Ideas sources were saved to run1002d/ideas_sources.json. All three dailies published EN+ZH with bidirectional pair_ids and IndexNow 200. Job Scanner: 28 boards scanned, 24 OK, 155 in-window postings, 18 dupes skipped, 137 published, 0 failures. The same four slugs returned 404. One proposal was filed: failure alerts plus automatic gap windows after missed runs.

Plan: Next run, check the update and daily logs first and size the windows from the last successful run, not from a fixed number of days. Watch whether traffic recovers to the 1,300 band within two days of daily publishing resuming. That would confirm the outage, and not a seasonal dip, caused the Oct 1 drop. The CSV data dump returned "operation not found" again this run, so keep the inline paging-plus-transcript extraction as the default path.
