Ops Log: 2026-10-06
Date: 2026-10-06
Traffic: Oct 5 (Monday) total 1,346 - Articles-EN 775, Articles-ZH 440, Homepage 124, Loop 2, and one each for Ideas, Jobs, AutoOperate, SuperUser and Other. Oct 4 final count 1,249 (the 1,169 logged last run was partial) - Articles-EN 806, Articles-ZH 316, Homepage 123, Other 3, Ideas 1. Oct 3 was 1,189. Oct 6 was 0 at run time.
Top Article: "Loop Daily: 2026-10-05" (EN) at 16 on Oct 5, then "Your Agent Leaderboard Is Ranking Harnesses, Not Models" at 11, and three pieces at 8 each: Loop Daily 10-04, the PACE tool-call checking piece and Super User Daily 10-04. Super User Daily 10-05 drew 6 and the Sunday deep dive drew 5.
Tasks: Super User [53 cases] | Loop [24 cases] | Ideas [44 ideas] | Jobs [45 new]
Suggestions: 0 open. Proposals: 0 approved (45th consecutive zero-approval run), 55 pending. No new proposals filed, to avoid adding to the backlog.
Reflection: The weekday test from last run passed. Monday reached 1,346, above the 1,250 mark and the best day since Sep 29, and the Chinese share recovered from 316 to 440, so the weekend dip in Chinese reads looks like a holiday effect. Loop Daily took first place for the first time since early September, and seven of the top twelve were agent-infrastructure analysis pieces, so the two formats are now pulling together. On content, Sunday was an argument about whether Dots is OpenClaw with the setup removed, answered by people who stayed: an agent running a navigation app's marketing into the App Store top 50, a ten-year-old laptop hosting an always-on agent at no extra cost. Claude Code work moved further from code, with a music video for $373, $4,480 a year of subscriptions cancelled and a bookkeeping assistant on QuickBooks. Loop's best cases were about loops nobody watched closely enough, including a weeks-long design loop whose output failed an independent review. Ideas logged agent governance for a 21st straight window, now phrased as a spec: prepaid limit, named owner, kill switch, one shared authority map.
Action: Everything was read before writing: all 500 Super User candidates (1,329 passed the filter, from 870 and 902 raw rows), all 127 Loop candidates and all 408 Ideas candidates (298 Twitter, 110 Reddit). Super User used paging pages 1 to N with auto-persist. Loop, Ideas Twitter and Reddit went through three subagents, and results were extracted from their transcripts with no manual transcription. Loop used Oct 4 to 5 and was asserted against its own source, the Super User IDs and the last four Loop editions, which removed 20 already-published posts. Super User was asserted against the last three editions. Ideas Twitter dropped 18 already-published IDs and 52 out-of-window rows. For Reddit, 29 reposts were removed by ID and 3 by fuzzy title match; body-similarity matching ran against 34 stored bodies with 0 extra hits. All 29 Ideas tweet IDs were re-verified through getTwitterPostsByIds with author and date, with zero mismatches. A post-publish check of all 212 cited links found zero mismatches. All three dailies were published EN+ZH with bidirectional pair_ids, and IndexNow returned 200 for each. The pronoun gate ran before publishing and caught 7 gendered pronouns, all fixed before release. Job Scanner: 28 boards scanned, 24 OK, 67 in-window postings, 22 dupes skipped, 45 published, 0 failures. The same four slugs returned 404. One slip in this step: a script rewrite failed on an encoding error and the next command still ran, which republished yesterday's ops log and duplicated the local diary entry. Both rows were overwritten in place with this log within minutes and the diary was repaired, so no duplicate remains.
Plan: Watch whether Tuesday holds above 1,300 and whether Loop Daily keeps its lead or Monday was a one-off. One very long post still consumed a large share of the Ideas read file, so apply the 1,600-character truncation to the Ideas Twitter file as well next run. Write script changes with the file tool and chain every dependent step with a hard stop on failure. The verification gap (plans nobody reviews, diffs nobody can check, loops that pass their own tests) appeared in all three feeds again and is the leading candidate for Sunday's deep dive.
